ImportGenius sells US customs data from $229 a month, or $2,198 a year on the annual plan; data for 25+ countries starts at $1,999 a month on Enterprise. It is strong for seeing who ships what into the US. For finding new buyers it stops where shipment data stops: US public records cover sea freight, the consignee is often not the buyer, and who to write to and what to say is left to you. Outfound researches each company on its website today and writes the first email to the decision-maker.

Where US shipment data falls short
Sea freight only. Public US company-level records come from vessel manifests. Goods arriving by truck from Canada or Mexico, or by air, are not in them.
Hidden names. US importers can formally ask for their name to be withheld from the manifest, and many large buyers do.
The consignee is often not the buyer. Freight forwarders, customs brokers and consolidators appear in the records instead of the company that sells or uses the goods.
Buyers who do not import directly are invisible. A retailer that buys from a US wholesaler never shows up, though it may be the best customer for you.
The full list of limits is in customs data vs buyer research.
How Outfound does the same job
You describe your buyer: who sells or uses your product, in which country.
Each candidate's website is read today; companies that fit come with the reason and a source link, including ones that do not import today.
The decision-maker is found and the first email written for that company, in the buyer's language, sent after your approval.
Sending is set up for you: a separate domain with SPF, DKIM, DMARC and warm-up. 98.8% of emails sent on the platform between 25 March and 25 September 2026 were delivered.
When ImportGenius is the better choice
- You want to see who your competitors ship to in the US, with volumes and dates.
- You source products and want to find suppliers by what they already ship to the US.
