Which rules apply when sending to other countries?

The recipient's country's rules apply; countries such as Canada and Australia require consent for commercial email.

When you write to a company abroad, the rules of the recipient's country apply. İYS applies only to recipients in Türkiye.

Notable examples:

  • European Union: GDPR; legitimate interest is the basis commonly used for business email. Some countries, such as Germany, are stricter.
  • Canada (CASL): commercial email generally needs the recipient's express or implied consent; cold sending is heavily restricted.
  • Australia (Spam Act): consent is required even when sending to businesses.

Check the target country's rules before launching. When a campaign is launched, Outfound's Compliance Preflight Check warns about risky recipients and unknown countries; for high-severity warnings you must accept legal responsibility to continue.
