If your domain's DNS is managed on Cloudflare, Outfound recognises it. The sending subdomain (e.g. send.example.com) needs only two NS records; Outfound writes SPF, DKIM, DMARC and the other records itself. Your main domain's records don't change.
- On Sending › Domains, click Add domain, type your domain and click Add domain.
- On the Add the DNS records screen, click Continue with Cloudflare.
- Sign in to your Cloudflare account, review the two NS records and approve them.
- After approving you come back to Outfound; the check runs on its own and the domain is verified within a few minutes.
If you see "There's a CNAME record" instead of the button
If the send subdomain already has a record (usually a CNAME or an A record), the screen shows There's a CNAME record on send.example.com and the Continue with Cloudflare button doesn't appear. Cloudflare doesn't remove the old record when it adds the new ones, so you delete it first:
- In Cloudflare, select your domain and go to DNS › Records.
- On the row of the record named send, click Edit, then Delete, and confirm.
- Go back to Outfound. The screen looks again every 20 seconds on its own; to skip the wait, click Check now. Once the record is gone, the warning disappears and the Continue with Cloudflare button appears.
Before deleting it, make sure that record isn't used for anything else; the send subdomain will be Outfound's sending address.
If there's no button at all: add the records yourself
- The screen shows two NS records: name send, values ns1.outfoundmail.com and ns2.outfoundmail.com.
- In Cloudflare, select your domain and click Add record on DNS › Records.
- Choose NS as the Type. Enter send as the Name and ns1.outfoundmail.com as the Nameserver, then click Save.
- Repeat step 3 for the second record with ns2.outfoundmail.com.
- Go back to Outfound and click Check now. The screen also checks on its own.
Don't change your domain's nameservers on Cloudflare; that would stop your website and email. If you can't add NS records, switch to the eight-record setup with Add 8 DNS records instead.
