If your domain's DNS is managed at IONOS, Outfound recognises it. The sending subdomain (for example send.example.com) needs just two NS records; Outfound writes SPF, DKIM, DMARC and the other records itself. Your main domain's records stay as they are.
- On Sending › Domains, click Add domain, type your domain and press Add domain.
- If the Add the DNS records screen shows Continue with IONOS, click it. You sign in to IONOS, see the records to be added and approve them. You then come back to Outfound and the check runs on its own.
No button: add the records yourself
- The screen shows two NS records: name send, values ns1.outfoundmail.com and ns2.outfoundmail.com.
- At IONOS, go to Domains & SSL; on your domain's row, click the gear icon under Actions, then DNS.
- Click Add record and choose NS as the Type. Type send in Hostname and ns1.outfoundmail.com in Point to, then click Save.
- Repeat step 3 for ns2.outfoundmail.com.
- Back in Outfound, press Check now. The screen also checks on its own; IONOS says a change can take up to an hour to reach everywhere.
Don't change your domain's nameserver settings: that stops your website and email. If the send subdomain already has another record (for example A or CNAME), delete it first. If you can't add NS records, switch to the eight-record setup with Add 8 DNS records instead.
